"No county ever produced a nobler and truer man than S. T. Sustaire. He was a housebuilder by trade and learned many of our best workmen their first knowledge of the steel square but his sage advice and cheering words are closed to us forever. He his gone to that house not made with hands. He was born in South Carolina October 16, 1853 and moved to N.C. when a small boy and from there to S.C. when a small boy and from there to Texas February 22, 1884. He married Millie Hough December 18, 1870. 6 children were born to the, 4 of whom are living: Mrs Lizzie Lindley of Newsome, E.H. Sustaire of Lone Oak, G.N and W.R. of Saltillo. His first wife died February 6, 1897. On October 3, 1889 (This may be a typo in the paper) he married Miss Josephine Orrill and 7 children wer born to them, 3 of whom survive: R.T. Sustaire of Vinson, Okla., Mrs. Opal Comer of Groesbeck and S.T. Sustaire Jr. of Dallas. He was put away in the Purley graveyard last Wednesday by a host of friends and relatives."

16. Hazel Veasey Casey, Story of Our Baby (On the page titled, "The Christening" Hazel writes a few paragraphs about how each child was named. Her notes confirm what the family knows, that Taylor Wesley was the name Jan's father used at least before his son, Coy, was born.) Taylor Casey served two different times in the US military. It is likely that he became AWOL during his second tour, while stationed at Magnolia AK. The family moved to Longview or Marshall and he began using the name, Joe Taylor. Although, as early as Jan's birth certificate, Hazel names the father of her baby as "Joseph Eugene", indicating some informality about the middle name. However, it is clear that Taylor used "Joe" after his service.

GILMER -- Graveside services for Donald "Donnie" Sustaire of Gilmer will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer with the Rev. J.L. Cross officiating. Mr. Sustaire passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, in Gilmer.
He was born Nov. 12, 1950, to Ellis Elmer and Lona Mae Youngblood Sustaire in Gilmer and had lived most of his life in the area. He was a devoted Buckeye fan, a Lions Club member who touched many lives and a member of Pine Acres Baptist Church.
Mr. Sustaire is survived by his brother, Gerald Sustaire of Gilmer; his sister, Rita Wilkins of Gilmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Elmer Sustaire, who died in 1991; his mother, Lona Mae Sustaire, in 1993; and a brother, Ellis Leon Sustaire, in 1995.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
